Helena was born and raised in Hong Kong and is currently pursuing a double major in Women & Gender Studies and Equity Studies at the University of Toronto. Her writing and research are grounded in a feminist perspective and focus on women’s and 2SLGBTQIA+ rights in relation to immigration, labour and the law. Outside of the classroom, she is involved in nonprofit and community work centred on equity, advocacy, and accessibility. She is also a violinist and a devoted cat person (currently missing her cats back home as she’s writing this).
